Daffy Duck

PC
Genre:  Educational    |     Year: 1991    |     Publisher: Hi Tech Expressions     |     Developer: Hi-Tech Expressions, Inc.
Game Review (written by Schuettl) Added on: 12/05/2006
Based on a funny and light hearted cartoon and character, Daffy Duck has a special place in so many people's hearts. This game, unfortunately, does not do justice to Daffy's namesake nor gives justice to the other host of characters from Looney Tunes that appear in this game. A basic retro design, this game incorporates several "frogger" type stages that are a nightmare to navigate and have no real tie in to the plots of Daffy's original cartoons.
The characters are recognizable and may bring enjoyment to an extremely young audience who purely enjoys seeing the familiar characters on the screen but doesn't really benefit from solving the seemingly simple yet hopelessly glitch mazes and frogger type road crossing scenes.
The colors are vibrant and the rich graphics for its time are a couple of its only redeeming qualities for those who are incredibly visual and don't mind the frustrations of a not so well designed game.
This game is badly designed and the only challenge is the frustration trying to maneuver around the unnecessary glitches and goofs of the designers. This game is definitely not for older gamers looking for a fun retro game and would quickly bore of its over-simplified yet hard to negotiate redundant levels which incorporate level after level of simple monotony. Much more educational, entertaining, and better designed retro games out there.
Often the early games designed after trademark characters from things like Warner Bros. and Disney were

dependent upon people buying them strictly out of recognition and put no real effort into designing a great game. Where in the World is Carmen San Diego on the other hand developed a challenging and great game from scratch and became a name in itself spawning its own television shows because of the popularity of the game and is a far better choice in the category of retro game with a nonviolent theme for younger kids.
Other suggestions include Super Munchers, Number Munchers, and Oregon Trail. Sorry to anyone who made this game and is looking for praise for their work, but even for old dos games this is pretty pathetic. Try harder next time and ye shall be rewarded for it. Happy Gaming Retro Lovers! Enjoy!

This is an educational spelling-game with popular Looney Toones characters like Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Wily E. Coyote. In this game Daffy Duck is on a treasure hunt, and in each level you must pick up the right letter wich is missing from the given word and then you must put it in the right slot.
