Game Review (written by Jalenerville) Added on: 11/25/2006
One of the first games I played on our first computer back in the day — that being the 1990s. Both the original and in London are pretty good games that can allow you to relax, but also use a little brain power. This is not a game one plays in the name of graphics (or to get the opportunity to gun down computer people). But it is fun, for younger and older.
Eagle Eye Mysteries stars the two Eagle siblings. The player becomes part of the “action”—that is, the mystery solving—by being the detective partner for one of the siblings as they along with you, the player, attempt to solve certain mysteries occurring around the town—a small town with farm land around (but not some tiny hamlet where the only crimes are missing pies from people’s windows).
For the most part, the mysteries are not extremely difficult. You as well as the fellow detective (an Eagle sibling) of your choice schlep around town to the locations relevant to the mystery in question. Using observation as well as questioning, clues are discovered and entered into the PDA. At the end, you put together the best evidence and point to the guilty subject. As said, not a difficult concept. Occasionally there will be those certain mysteries that result in major head scratching (but usually not banging of the head against the wall).
Eagle Eye Mysteries also has a sequel, Eagle Eye Mysteries in London. This is also fun, with the same premise except the small town has been replaced by the large metropolis that is London in the United Kingdom. While visiting there aunt and uncle, the Eagles continue to solve mysteries along with the player. The sequel is not only fun and interesting for the element and intrigue of solving mysteries, but is fun in that it allows the player the opportunity to see and learn about some of the great locations that resides in London and the surrounding area. I know my future travels to London (God-willing I get a chance to go) may be influenced by the interest sparked by this game during my childhood years.
Overall, good game that allows the player the opportunity to solve some mysteries that do not necessarily make the player yawn nor cause headaches. It is not a game of huge graphics or stunning soundtracks, but is still fun and relaxing way to allow the brain to continue to work.
