Game Review (written by Martin87) Added on: 10/03/2006
Mario is Missing
A very fun and educational game where you play as Luigi and go throughout different countries looking for your brother Mario. The aim is to visit different cities, find out where you are and return all the missing landmarks that the koopas have stolen. I first played this when I was about 8 and thoroughly enjoyed the learning and the gameplay. Play is done using the mouse and is very straight forward. Graphics are 2D and cartoonish but fine as the gameplay and fun you get out of the game is top notch.
I give this game 9/10. Try it and see. You travel all over the world and learn about many of the world’s major cities and have to answer questions about many of the world’s major landmarks so learn a lot but as with all quizzes, it's a lot of fun. All questions are multiple choice so guessing is also an option.
Mario is Missing isn't really as bad as everyone says it is. I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit even though it was an educational game. This game definitely was unique and there aren't many games like it and I'm not saying that all educational games are good. There are some that I played that are simply the worst. Mario's Time Machine is a perfect

example of that but I'll save that for another review. Let's get on with Mario is Missing, shall we.
Graphics: 9
As usual, the graphics are terrific just like in all Mario games. They truly are the best for the Super Nintendo. Nintendo definitely didn't go wrong here.
Music and Sound: 7
The music wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either. It was about average. The sound effects were pretty good. The only problem I had with the music was that it got a bit annoying after a while but other then did that, there are no problems here.
Plot: 9
The plot is one of the best things in this game. The fact that you don't have to save the princess like you do in every other Mario game makes this plot very unique. I was getting quite bored with always having to save the princess. It's nice that Nintendo finally made a new story.
Difficulty: 7
This game was pretty easy. There wasn't that much challenge in this game. The only hard thing I found in this game was when you had to answer educational questions. I'll admit, I didn't know the answers to most of the questions so it took me a few tries before I got some of the questions right.
Replay Value: 8
I enjoyed this game a lot. This is one of the few good educational games out there. The only problem I had with this game was that the game was too short. It didn't take me very long to beat this game. I wish they added a few more levels to the game but other then that, it was a fun game.
Overall: 8
This game really isn't as terrible as people make it out to be. It really is a shame that this game was hated by so many people just because it had a bit of education in it. Even though there is education in it, I still thought it was a fun game. Nintendo really did a good job. Although there were a few problems with the game such as being a bit too short, it definitely was unique and different from most of the other games out there. Overall, it was a good game.
