When I was younger and in elementary school I used to play Oregon Trail. We would have special days for Oregon Trail and computer time. It was always so exciting because we got to actually learn as we played.
It showed us that the trials those pioneers faced were not always easy to over come. We would almost get competitive to see who could make it the furthest with out killing the whole entire wagon train. It taught us that these people did not have it very easy to make it through what they did to travel so far.
They are the reason our country expanded as much as it did.
I want my baby cousins who are growing up in a generation of "Halo" to know that there are games that are educational and fun too. That not all video games must be about killing, violence, war, death, shooting, and stealing. This teaches you that there are many factors you need to survive in life. This game shows kids that not every thing can be done on the first try. I do not know how many times we killed the horses and oxen pulling the wagons trying to get through the rivers. We learned it takes persistence to get all the way to Oregon. We learned that
some day we will need to budget because if we do not we will run out of money before we are able to get to the end.
It’s been so long since I've played this and I want to have it so that my younger cousins can play it and enjoy a classic. This
Oregon Trail Download is one of the classic games that every one should play at least sometime in their life. It’s a great game. Brings back lots of child hood memories.
So glad that there is a place to find this game and enjoy it yet a gain and expose a younger generation to the game. They should make a new version that is upgraded and make it an even better experience that would be fantastic!
It’s been so long since I' have played this game I can not wait to try it out again. Hopefully someday even my kids will be able to play Oregon Trail and see what fun it can be to learn about history and the things our ancestors went through to make the country we have today. Show that the will of Americans is strong enough to pursue anything that comes at us and to expand our minds and our futures.
