Game Review 1 (written by Shadow0809) Added on: 07/31/2006
The first time I ever played the Oregon Trail game was when I was in middle school. We played it in our computer class, it was awesome.
I especially liked the hunting part, you know, shooting the animals and everything. This has got to be the best game of all time. Everybody knows about Oregon Trail, and it is a game that sticks in our minds and we don't forget.
This is something that every child should get a chance to play, because it has been handed down from generations to generations.
So we are very thankful for the oregon trail download - It is a very important family value. Families would gather around the computer, even though it wasn't as advanced as today's computer, and play Oregon Trail.
Most everybody knows that this game was played on the original apple computer, so I believe that will always bring good remembering of the apple computer as well. One of the other things I can remember so well, is when you would get to float your boat down the rivers, and hope for the best. Many times I crashed, or my boat fell apart, but that was what made this game fun. You just didn't want to put the game down, it was very addictive.

to go to school, so they could play Oregon Trail in their computer classroom. I'm not sure if they have come out with a more advanced version, but if they have, I would like to check it out, because, it would be very hard to outdo the original version of this game. I also liked to buy supplies for my convoy, to make sure things were taken care of. I especially remember buying plenty of ammo for my rifle, because it was important to have plenty of firepower to overcome Indians and also to hunt for food. If I remember correctly, the hardest part in the oregon trail game was to get through the Rockies. I always seemed to die during these times. Also sickness killed a good part of my people as I traveled the route.
This was a real game, with real personalities, and real drama. This is an important educational game, because it was very much like this in the old days, when life was hard, and you lived by the gun, and you just had to make things happen to survive out there in the wild, wild, west. Everybody wanted to be on the Oregon Trail, but could not afford to make the trip, but you can download oregon trail now and see what it was like. Families would even ride in different convoys to make it to Washington. A hard time but a wonderful computer game and memories for my whole life.

Game Review 2 (written by Aeladd) Added on: 07/29/2006
Well, of course I started to play the game right away after i found this Oregon Trail download. It is a pretty cool educational game in my opinion. I haven't played it in a very long time but I know I used to enjoy it a lot in elementary school.
I know as a girl I used to always enter the names of the boys I had crushes on just so I could see what funky diseases they picked up. I always got a pretty good laugh. There's always the chance of all of your oxen dying, but the little raft trip at the end of the game is pretty fun. I always liked hunting, I thought it was pretty fun.
I don't know why the Oregon Trail Game was so fun to me, but I guess it was usually because it kept me occupied during computer class. The graphics aren't too great, but that doesn't really matter because the game is kind of old and that's how they're supposed to be I suppose. I think it would be really cool, actually they might already have one, but I thought it might be really cool if they would make an updated version of the oregon trail download so that it could become popular again.
Of course, there are also face book groups dedicated to the Oregon Trail Game now, it was pretty much a huge hit. One face book group is called, 'I tried to forge the river and my fucking oxen died'. I find that kind of humorous, because it is so true. In a morbid way, that is kind of the most fun part of the whole game! Just the suspense of not knowing if someone is going to 'drown' or 'get bitten by a snake' while crossing the river. And then there's always the choice of occupation. Do you want to be a doctor, banker? If you have a doctor in your wagon then the snake bite is curable. But do you want more money to spend? Then you might want to go with the banker. It all depends if you really truly desire to make it across the Oregon Trail or if you are just playing for kicks.
I know I always felt a bit of accomplishment when I made it all the way across without anyone from my party dying, but it was also fun just to put all of the people I hated in the wagon just to see how they would die, like I said, it is kind of morbid. Oregon Trail Deluxe is also very funny though.
Over all it is just a classic game that all children should play in school just so they can write dumb reviews about it in their older age so that they can download oregon trail or some similar awesome computer games that bring back their childhood.

This is a great game. I found it while I was in college and played it for school purposes. I was an education major and even though it was for research purposes, I really enjoyed the game. Now I am looking for an Oregon Trail download for my children. We are reading the Little House series and I know this will be a great supplement for them.

I love Oregon Trail. It’s one of my absolute childhood favourites. Takes me back to the good old days. The Oregon Trail Game is awesome. It does a fantastic job of getting children interested in the west. The game provides students with a chance to see and understand what life along the Oregon Trail was really like. And it totally ROCKED! I love it! I loved shooting way more meat than I could carry. It was also fun to watch the goods float away when you tried to ford to deep a stream.

Everyone remembers Oregon Trail. Now that we are older it's just something that we must have; if not because we're a little bit nostalgic, then definitely because it will always be fun, so let's download Oregon Trail!

Oregon Trail Deluxe is so much fun! I absolutely loved playing the original version in grade school. The graphics are better in this version, but the concept is the same. I would definitely recommend this game for a rainy day or just for a day where you want to stay in!

I think this is the only game I have ever had the patience to sit down and complete. I can still remember sitting in class in elementary school playing Oregon Trail Deluxe and coming up with different ways to cross the trail. I love it.

This game brings back the joys of being young. I always played as a banker so I could get more money. I really enjoyed the hunting part of the game. You can use the meat to trade for stuff you need.

This is a game that is timeless. One that brings back memories and makes you can't wait to share with your kids. A game from an era when games were educational and fun.

Oregon Trail was so much fun. I played both the older versions on Apple Computer and the newer ones for Dos and Windows. I love the skill points idea, especially as you can choose how hard to make the game.

This game is amazing! I always enjoyed going to the computer lab once a week just to play it!

Best game ever! The only reason I went to middle and elementary school. It keeps you interested the entire time, and requires you to think about when you're going to start your journey, to hunt for food, and how to survive.

The Oregon Trail Game was the highlight of my week back in the day. We used to try to squeeze every valuable minute out of the time, allotted for us to play. Those were the day when video games were simple.

I played Oregon Trial in elementary and I absolutely loved the game. It was so much fun picking characters and seeing what happened to them throughout the game.

I played this game in elementary school. The teachers were always upset that we were playing this game instead of doing our work. I have been searching for ages for it and now happy I found an Oregon Trail download.

This was the best game. It got me to do my homework: if we did our homework, we earned extra minutes playing. I remember how happy I was when I shot my first bear because I used to only get the 2-pound squirrels and would eventually die of dysentery.

I haven't played Oregon trail since I was in fifth grade and have not played it since, but it is just one of those games you don't forget and will always love eventually everyone else who is introduced to it will love it too.

Man, I remember in elementary school we played this like crazy! My favorite part of the game was going hunting / dieing / and then writing out what you want on your tombstone lol!

The Oregon Trail Deluxe is a long lost game for me. I used to stay inside for recess in school to play it I loved it. Now I finally found an oregon trail download like 18 years later and I still love the game. Oregon Trail inspired me to get my own farm and ranch started. Now I have got 6 old time wagons and 16 Clydesdales and 10 shires and I also do the chuck wagon races as well. This game is so great you can learn a lot about the old times

Mudvaynegod (11/10/2006)
Great old game for young and for the ones who wants to learn more about the old west. The Oregon Trail Deluxe was a favourite at my school years ago, I remember getting into trouble for playing it all time.

Oregon Trail is my all time favourite game! I remember back in elementary school we used to get to play the game for an hour in computer class every Friday. I lived my week for Friday! I'm so overjoyed by this game that I can't even find the right words to explain how I feel! You just have to play it for yourself.

It's been a very long time since I played Oregon Trail. I played it in school which I have been out of for 10 years. I thought it was great for us to learn the ways it was like back in thoughs days. Liked being able to pick out who I wanted in my wagon. It was game that was easy to us. The graphics when i played many years ago where not great. Has the years got better the graphics got better.

I absolutely loved Oregon Trail Games growing up and i still thoroughly enjoy it now. im always fighting with my great grandkids for a chance to play, and im still undefeated. this game is just amazing, it teaches one so many things, i actually planned a game similar to this at a family reunion, it was so much fun. it was also hilarious to watch the types of decisions that the children made and what they did when they had to do when they were sick. if any one wants to know how i planned it, drop me a line via my email. merci beaucoup.
