Game Review (written by 16belowzero) Added on: 02/15/2008
The Typing of the Dead is a unique game. It uses all the old game play mechanics of the original "House of the Dead" arcade shooter. With one twist, instead of pointing and shooting at the screen, all monsters can be easily destroyed with some simple typing skills. This game is highly addicting. Primarily because it's the only typing game I've ever player where you get to kill zombies.
This game makes Mavis Beacon look like "Hello Kitty Island Adventure". Surprisingly, this game actually got me to type about 10wpm faster then I already could.

This game makes Mavis Beacon look like "Hello Kitty Island Adventure". Surprisingly, this game actually got me to type about 10wpm faster then I already could. Fans of the arcade shooter will love this spin-off; it doesn’t alter the plotline at all. It does make you look funny, with those weird keyboard harness things. This game

also has an arrangement of mini games to help you increase your typing speed, accuracy, as well as typing without looking at the keys.
You can literally spend hours typing zombies to death. The difficulty ramps up at a fun pace as well. Making early level zombies require only a letter or small word to be typed and later levels will require you to type longer more difficult words. The bosses are still fun too, and have been altered around to make them even more fun then before. This game is loaded with unique features and extras. And horribly voiced intermission sequences to boot!
I promise you that no matter what you will not be disappointed if you download this game. There's even an online multiplayer, so even if you get bored of mindlessly mashing at your keyboard, you can find some online buddies to help you do so. In conclusion, you should download this game. It's fantastic and really fun and will keep you playing, unlike most games that will get remedial after a few hours. Good, structured, flowing game play. Nice mechanics, lots of bonuses, extras, challenges, online game play, zombies, and all that other stuff that house of the dead fans will remember.
