This game is called Asterix im Morgenland and is based on the cartoon Asterix and Obelix. Many titles spin off from cartoons, and many become video games like this one.
Asterix is a small blond viking who is content, smart and simple, while Obelix is a big red haired viking that eats a lot and is strong. Also dont forget the small dog and the village mystic are the main characters of the story. When the Romans attack they drink ale that the mystic of the village makes and it makes them very powerful.
The Romans also are after the ale.
Graphics are in blue and pink, the people are blue and background is in pink. It starts out as dialogue I think in german not sure. You see Asterix and Obelix eating at the table with fellow vikings and villagers. Suddenly Asterix and Obelix are called to check a certain part of the village. They eventually are called upon to help by a stranger, an Indian princess who keeps praying for the flood gates of heaven to open and rain to come down. There is such a person, with a voice who can open the floodgates of heaven, in Rome. They go to a flying carpet man and he tries to take them to their destination. But they
are shot down by arrows and fall. This is when the story really begins and the fighting starts.
This game basically is really old but good. It gives you the right to choose dialogues, therefore changing the story and the outcome of the game. It adds to the replay level. Some dialogue repeats itself but otherwsie it's ok and be prepared to choose the right options or start again. TMaking wrong decisions leads to death. There is a small arrow that you use to click on people by pressing enter and watch the dialogue come.
This game also incorporates a mini dungeon you have to go though to continue the game. The speed of the dungeon was very fast because I have a modern PC, so I couldn't investigate it very well. I suggest a slow down program. Then I kept pressing on by pushing and holding number aroows and I got to new dialogue. I haven't seen many old style games that give you options on each screen. Press 1. Choose to investigate 2. choose to run away so on.... in pink and blue for its time. There are many dungeon type of games that came later but in colour and not as much in pink and blue that give options in dialogue. Also if you are an Asterix and Obelix fan, the animations will be very fun, especially when they flew down to Rome with the magic carpet.
