Red Cat 2: De Ontvoering is a video from Holland. It is a little known classic game that is simple yet fun to play. The game is a platform game that will have you playing the role of the Red Cat. Your goal is to save Princess Dana who has been kidnapped by a group of mouse.
The gang of mice is led by an evil wizard and at the end of the eighth level; you will have to go against him. The eight levels feature hundreds of enemies that you have to face in order to save the princess.
The game is very cartoony. It features a fun little protagonist going against a swarm of silly enemies. The enemies will come from different places and will arrive onto the scene by various means. There are mice that will appear on the screen tied to a balloon and other cartoon character antics. The Red Cat also does this silly pose before shooting off the enemies.
When you start the game, you will have access to a shot gun. This is what you will use to blast away the hundreds of little rodents that are preventing you from rescuing the princess. The plot is similar to the 80s hit Mario Bros where Mario and Luigi work on saving the kidnapped Princess.
Aside from the shot gun, you can also use a bomb and other power ups that you will find in the game. After you go through eight levels against the swarm of mice, you will come face to face with the evil wizard. Only after you beat the boss are you considered triumphant.
The game’s graphics are colorful and fun. The backgrounds and the characters feature great detail like the newer video games. There are no special levels, or other additional features to the game to increase the value and novelty of the game to make it fun to play over and over. This means that you will probably enjoy it the first time you play it but I doubt if you will play it over and over again.
The game is very short and you can easily finish it after only a few hours. The game is simple and fun enough for children to play and it’s not a waste of time for the adults either.
This is a game that platform fans will enjoy but it’s not something I would recommend to everyone.

Dutch game where a gang of mouses lead by an evil wizzard kidnapped princess Dana. Redcat has the job of rescueing her. At the end of level 8, RedCat has to beat that evil wizzard. |
