Game Review 1 (written by Ashweeter) Added on: 03/12/2009
Yahtzee is a very basic game, and easy to play. There are no characters even involved, no pieces, except for the dice that you roll when it is your turn. Most people enjoy this game because it is relaxing; I have found that it is very mellow and enjoyable after a day of hard work, and there is nothing better than just sitting back and enjoying every minute of it. It is a very simple game to play, and of course, everyone just loves to scream "YAHTZEE!".
I played this game all the time when I was little, and there is no skill that you can even develop for this game, it is purely chance. You roll the dice, and whatever turns up is basically what you have to go with. You have no choice, and cheating will get you nowhere. Remember, it's no fun for anyone when you cheat, and just ruins the whole games anyway, so do not do it!
My parents taught me this game when I was little and it is easy to play when you get the hang of it. You have to get a certain score on your regular numbers; your ones, twos, threes, fours, fives, and sixes to achieve a bonus score

adding onto your final total. You also have your full house, you large straight, your short straight, your three of a kind, your four of a kind, your chance, and of course your Yahtzee.
A Yahtzee is when you get all five of your dice to match the same number. It does not matter what number it is, just as long as it is all the same. For example, if each one of your dice turned up with a one, then you have a Yahtzee! Getting a large straight is when you get all five dice being consecutive numbers. For example, the only possibilities are getting a one, two, three, four, or five, or the other possibility is getting a two, three, four, five, six. A small straight is when you get four consecutive numbers. By the way, you really only get three rolls per turn, so think wisely! For a full house, you have your three rolls to get three of your dice to read all of the same number, and your other two dice to read the same of another number. For example if you rolled and three of your dice came up with fours, and the other two came up with fives. This would be a full house. A chance is when you really have a bad roll, and you don't really want to count it as something, so you just use your chance and you get extra points basically.
Well, I've basically outlined the whole game, so have fun with it!

Game Review 2 (written by Shadow_hyren) Added on: 03/06/2009
This will bring back fond memories of days past when you used to play board games with the family instead of computer games.
The graphics of course are basic. Games like this are nice because they are simple and can keep you occupied for a couple of hours at a time. I remember playing this game a lot as a kid.
There is no plot, no characters to develop, and technically no replay value. But then this is Yahtzee. This is the sort of game you play to pass the time with going mind numbingly bored.
Even if you have absolutely no idea how to play Yahtzee or even what it is, there is a nice concise little help menu to attend to your every need. And if you do remember Yahtzee it will be like seeing and old friend whom you have not seen in years. Kind of like a family reunion without all of the baggage.
It is hours of fun and all it consists of are five dice, scrap paper and a pencil. The only thing better that is of similar complexity is rolling that Yahtzee with sixes.
Most gamers started out with board games or card games and this would be a welcome addition to any library. Yahtzee is perfect for the casual and the seasoned gamer alike.
Even as simple as this game is, it still actually takes some intelligence to play.
