Game Review 1 (written by Some2guy) Added on: 08/16/2006
The Incredible Machine is an old game I used to play when I was younger. Now, it is no longer made, and I have to rely on these kinds of websites to provide these games for me. I think it is much more fun than many of today's games. It is a very entertaining puzzle game.
In this game, complex machines are made using simple objects to perform simple tasks. This is why it is called The Incredible Machine. The graphics you cannot really call spectacular as they are 2d where newer games will be 3d, but it is the way the game works that is really spectacular.

who likes to make things will enjoy playing this game.
It is easy at first, but the difficulty goes up soon and makes it very challenging and enjoyable. Like I said before, it makes you think differently, and that different way of thinking makes changes to the way you see and think of things. It is not a pointless game. In fact, it teaches you a little about how things can work. An important point of this game is logic and reasoning. The placement of important parts is the most important part of the game. In solving the puzzles, parts of a machine need to be place in the correct places in an incomplete machine.
Also, you can make your own machines from scratch for fun, not for obtaining access to certain puzzles. The parts you can use vary. Among the special ones are mouse motors where a mouse runs on a wheel to turn gears, mandrill motors where a mandrill runs on a treadmill for a similar effect, an alligator that bumps up everything that lands on his head, a kettle which makes steam when heated, a boxing glove that pushes things, magnifying glasses which ignite things in conjunction with a light source, lasers which can ignite things or activate light

Game Review 2 (written by Teenr0cker) Added on: 08/16/2006
This game was made in the early 90's and it is the best logic and physics tool any child could ever play with in the 90's. Learning the properties of all of the hundreds of items will allow you to eventually master all of the hundreds of levels this game has to offer. The concept of a Rube Goldberg machine is one of the most interesting places in this beautiful game.
Rube Goldberg died in the 1970's, he was famous for his hilarious cartoons in which he depicted a very long and extravagant series of slides, levers, ropes, and various chain reactions that would then, after so much hard work, perform a very simple and common task, such as turning a light off or changing the channel with a TV Remote control. In fact, his puzzles were so famous that he was given an award by the National Cartoonist's Society ten years after his death. And now, today, hundreds of college students model their extravagant Rube Goldberg machines using this application as a means of blueprints for the final model. It is only natural that the second place winner of the contest (hundreds entered) of creating best Rube Goldberg’s machines had modeled his machine using this game!
Now, I don’t tolerate puzzle games often, but the Incredible Machine is one of the few games that are excluded. I have never been more interested in the realistic physics and logical solving problem that are involved in this game, and it would be difficult to find another.
The only downside to The Incredible machine would have to be that this is the final installment. Sadly, there are no more games of this caliber or genius. It would be sad to realize one day, that the name "Rube Goldberg" will go unnoticed in the common world for such a series such as this one has died out. However, that does not mean that the legend will not live on! Go forth, get this game! Play it and figure out your own, real-life, Rube Goldberg machine!

Fun times! One of my favourite childhood games ever. Really gets you thinking. All the puzzles keep you playing for hours. And since there are so many combinations, the possibilities are literally endless.

I love the incredible machine, it is the way that life should be. Just the way that one must use one's brain to complete these seemingly easy tasks. Then, to find out that they are not as easy as they may seem. I think that my favourite part of the game is the build your own level part of it. But then again, who doesn't enjoy that

One of the best PC games I have played, very original, and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, they just don't make puzzle games like this anymore.

Even though I haven't played the latest version yet, I was used to be crazy with this game years ago since I love solving puzzles and the puzzles are just so crazily made with mices, cheese, rackets.so sometimes i did make some puzzle and kill the mice with rackets, or kill the kids with crochodiles.or jst let them fall.cat can eat mice, and crochodile can eat kids and mice. How nice.
