Game Review (written by Agent_morelli) Added on: 10/05/2007
Future Classics is actually 5 different games. The graphics are old but that doesn't matter as the games are very fun addicting. Included in the Future Classics collection are 5 puzzle games: Block-Alanche, DiskMan, Diet Riot, Lost In Maze, and TankBattle. I will describe each of them:
Block-Alanche: Your basic tetris-type game, except it is 3-D. Instead of fitting blocks in one 2-D row, you have three rows deep to fill up. A good challenge for Tetris players. Overall: 8/10
DiskMan: One of the best games in this collection. A top-view game. Your are diskman, who charges up his energy at electrical outlets and goes around inside your computer trying to avoid various disasters like ticking bombs, pac-men, and rolling boulders that will flatten him like a pancake. Diskman's objective is simple: Collect enough floppy disks required for the level (The amount gets higher as the levels progress) and drop them in to the drive bay at the other side of the maze. It's not as easy as it sounds, though - Diskman must sometimes push boulders out of his way to move to get disks, but sometimes the discs are in the path of the rolling boulder. If it hits the disk, its gone. Same goes if hungry Pac-men find a disk in their path. They'll eat right through it so diskman must move fast and efficiently if he wants to beat the level. Diskman is a highly addictive game and was a classic game when I was 5 (In 1992). I still have it on my 3.5 inch floppy disks at home; I would never get rid of this great game. Overall: 10/10
Diet Riot: MY FAVORITE. This game RULES! Out of all the games in this collection, this one is by far the best (and funniest). Another top-view maze game:
Goal: You are a funny fat man trying to lose weight and shut down the fatty fast food business! To do this, you will run around the maze and grab the bulk supply boxes belonging to the fast food restaurant and throw them in the dumpster! However, junk food like Root Beer floats, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Fries, and much more are running around trying to get you to eat them. If you do, you will become fatter and fatter. The fatter you get, the less boxes you can carry at a time, so you will have to act fast and stay skinny to win. If get too fat you die of cholesterol and a big bellied ghost floats up from your gravestone. But you can stay skinny: eating healthy foods like strawberries will get you skinnier during play and there is a workout bench somewhere in the maze: Get to it and work those extra pounds off while food can't get to you. But this bears a risk as well: if you work out too fast, too fat, you heart rate will go up and up and if you over-exert yourself, you will die. This game is also great to play with two players. Overall: 10/10 THE BEST!!!!
Lost In Maze: A simple 3-D maze game. You walk through a maze in first person, trying to grab up treasure and crystal balls that will give you a small period of time to look at the finished map of the maze and get out. Fun for a while, I usually don't play it too much though. Overall: 6/10
TankBattle: Great two-player game. Top view, you are the driver of a tank and the enemy is at the other side of the screen. Your garage opens and you got out and hide behind tress and try to shell your enemy. If you take too much damage, try and drive your tank back to the garage and park it in there for repairs. Your tank also burns a lot of fuel so snag up those red gas cans in the field when you can. It's fun to play against the computer but even more fun against a brother or sister. Overall: 9/10
