There are six different colored gems. The colors that the gems come in are green, blue, red, aqua, yellow, and purple.

There is also a rainbow gem that allows you to make up any of the colored gems with it to get a match. There are also stone gems that will not disappear and can get in the way of your other gem matches. You are trying to build lengths of gems of the same color to get credit, which will allow you to use certain power up tricks. There is also a feature during the game called knots, which will give you special things to get rid of gems. When you get a certain number of knots there will be a different feature that can be done. When you get a single not the bottom row will disappear, two knots will disappear all the same colored gems, and three knots will take off all the stone pieces and so on.
Gemstorm has been known as one of the most addictive games ever created next to Tetris. With all the differences between each level and the numerous features that you can use, there is no doubt you will play this game over and over again, even if you’ve beat it a few times. The also added benefit of this game is that you are still strategizing for your next move and hoping not to get too many gems piled up making you loose.
Gemstorm is not too difficult of a game and very easy to learn. With the three different level choices you have the option to play easy, medium, or hard. Each is quite challenging in many aspects even on easy. The game is great for all ages and easy for any age to learn. Once you’ve determined how to play and what would be the better places to place the gems and when to take them out you’ll have this game mastered.

The graphics are arcade like graphics, but they don’t need to be over the top to get this game the popularity that it has acquired over the years. With the simple graphics and the superb game play there is no way you won’t be turned away from playing it forever.
