Wow, what can you say about Lemmings that hasn’t already been said? Its truly is a masterpiece of puzzle games, and no single game of its time, and many current games, could not compare to it. I have found this game to be one of the most addicting puzzle games of its time, with a full array of cute little lemming trying to forge there way through many a tough and demanding levels in order to get home.

The concept is easily picked up so the game can really get going quickly. Planning out the level can sometimes be the greatest challenge presented to you on your travels, as an easy level can sometimes fall prey to disaster is poorly planned. The graphics
are poor, as it was created a very long time ago, but this only proves how timeless this game is, as it easily transcends many graphically pleasing, but poorer quality games. In Lemmings you take control of hundreds of cute little blue, green people, giving them different jobs and trying too keep them alive as the embark on there perilous journey.
Among these jobs are suicide lemmings (these are my favorite as when they do there job of exploding they shout out a little "Oh No!" in the cutest little high-pitched voice.), builders (these build stares), climbers, diggers, bashers (these destroy walls that stand in your way.) Miners (These lemmings dig into the ground at a forty five degree angle) blockers, or umbrella lemmings (these can fall from extreme heights; they can use a little umbrella to slowly float them down to the ground when they enter a dangerous fall.). You give the different lemmings these commands in order to try and get a certain percentage of them through the game in order to advance to the next level.
There have been sequels and remakes trying to get money off of the original name, but all fail in comparison. They try too hard to appeal ascetically, and fail to achieve the greatness which the original title held. I remember the first time I played this game, I was a little kid and it quickly became my favorite game of all time, and still today brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. This game is one of the great classics, and is timeless in its power to captivate those who play it. If you do not have this game I highly recommend you download it and give it a try and I promise you won’t have wasted your time.
