Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/30/2007
Locomotion is a building simulation that is the continuation to the game Transport Tycoon. You as the player will have the use of railroads, trams, trucking lines, buses, and many more new and amazing things. There are over forty scenarios already designed and also the vast scenario editor. There is the ability to play this game as a multiplayer, which allows you to compete against a friend.
The graphical design that has been done with this game is a third dimensional isometric view, which is used in other games of Chris Sawyers.
The graphics do have a fair amount of detail done to the entire game. With the ability to see everything moving and experiencing the development of your city, the animations and details are just phenomenal.
In this game there is one very interesting hidden feature that not many are aware of is capable. This feature would be the ability to drive your trains. To do this you will have to discover the cheat to input and then start taking over your trains. This can be quite interesting, but be careful not to hit other trains that you may have running at the time. There is the ability to customize your colour scheme, which allows you to make your trains any colour you please.
Locomotion has so many new additional features that this game seems endless with the amazing possibilities. A few of these additions include easier building of road station, larger railroad stations, easier airport construction, local routes, scenario challenges, and many more that you will discover while playing this great simulation.
The game has five different levels of difficulty ranging from beginner to expert. With the levels of difficulty there will also be several objectives to select from, but some may require you to get a certain ranking to be able to do them. Some of the objectives can be very difficult as others you’ll be completing in no time. With the vast range of difficult this game is enjoyable by all ages. A lot of the scenarios are based on real world places. Some of these can consist of the United States or the United Kingdom. This is a great feature allowing you to attempt recreating your homeland.
Through a lot of development and details, Locomotion has become a very popular game that lead to many more amazing simulations. If you have enjoyed these kinds of simulations in the past and are looking to try something with more difficulty and amazing graphics, Locomotion would be a great choice. This game has endless possibilities that you will discover you have been playing it for months on end. Games like Locomotion are by far very phenomenal games in so many aspects.
