The game Lode Runner: The Legend Returns was developed by Presage Software Development Company and is a 1994 revamp of the classing Lode Runner which I originally played. I remember playing this game has great fun on one of my old consoles which evenly I had to be dumped because the TV was dropped on it unfortunately. This game has improved since then when I played the classic Lode Runner. This game has much improved graphics.
Your character is named Jake Peri is this guy that runs around steeling gold from not so friendly monks which are red.
Your goal is to steel all the gold with out getting nicked by these monks and then get out of there to the next level. You can climb ladder and use some tools to your disposal to get away form the crazy monks.
There are more features added to this game like teleporters which add an interesting edge to the game and exits the need a key to open it. The cool new things that can be picked up are: snare, nasty sprays, traps, jackhammers, buckets filled with gunk to slow down the monks and bombs.
You play Jake Perry and sometime you can play an identical looking character Wes Reckless. This happens when you play two players where you go again a friend you wish
to kick ass. The game has 150 single-player levels which are broken down in to different worlds. Ancient Times, Fungus Caverns, Phosphorus Caves and the final world which has iron ground, The Industrial world. Some of the worlds are in the day and some are pitch dark.
I do like the level editor that comes with the game this is good to create a level and test a friend on it (Guinea Pig). I did find some interesting bugs which can be useful so give then a try. One is that the liquid tile will not hurt if you are on a ladder directly above it. Give it a try.
Another bug with can be helpful when the heat is when two monks are get stuck together permanently. This happens when they try to climb on / off a ladder at the same time. Don’t worry this does not happen often.
This is a very good game and never dies. It is always entertaining when I play it. What is also nice is that it is a small file so does not take up much space. I recommend playing this game.
