Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 01/13/2008
Puzzle adventure games are one of the most entertaining games there are because it’s so easy to get into them because they offer so much to the gamer. One such game that has so much fun to offer the gamer in terms of game play is the puzzle adventure game Pharaoh’s Ascent.
As a dead Pharaoh, you must make your way through puzzles and obstacles to ascend to the Kingdom of Orisis. After you died you were placed in your pyramid tomb that has been designed with plenty of rooms and mazes to prevent intruders from getting to the pharaoh.
The pyramid is composed of six levels with each level featuring different themes.
Before you can take your place by the side of Orisis, you must get past the awful creatures that the God Set has created himself and put out for you to defeat. You must be very quick in the body and in the mind if you are to get away from fanged spiders, beasts and other obstacles.
At the start of the game, it is a platform adventure game but there are plenty of other genres incorporated into the game. There will also be plenty of puzzles that will need some serious mental flexing. As you go through the different rooms in the pyramid tomb, you must avoid gas traps, canyons, and other dangers. You will have the Staff of Ra, a weapon that you can use against the enemies. You must go through 91 challenging levels before you ascend to the kingdom of Orisis.
Released by Ambertec in the late 90s, the game has wonderful graphics that made the game look fun and easy on the eyes. The sound is also fun and adds to the whole mood of the game. The controls are smooth and easy to learn and will not make progressing in the game difficult. What make the game difficult are the challenges that are set in the game because there are so many booby traps and enemies that you must avoid. It’s not a cumbersome game and you’ll enjoy all the obstacles.
This is a game that is definitely worth downloading because it is loaded with fun. Because of the variety of the mini-games within the game, it can be enjoyed by everyone. Download it now and spend many hours in front of your PC trying to reach the Kingdom of Osiris.
