Qwirks is a fantastic arcade game that resembles the very famous Tetris. The plot of this game is quite out of the ordinary. Little creatures called Qwirks have infested the Intergalactic Zoo. This was the attempt of the Warlords of Zapf to destroy Earth credentials with the Alliance of Worlds. The Alliance scientists quickly fought back and captured two of the Qwirks that were able to assist in their lab experiments. One discovery they came across was that when you place two Qwirks of the same colour together they have telepathic ability.

Soon they also discovered, by placing a large group of the same coloured Qwirks together, they would become eighth dimensional. This gave the scientists some hope in defeating the Warlord’s plan and
making it hard for them to destroy Earths credentials.
During game play you will see Qwirks fall from the top of your screen in pairs of two. You are able to move the Qwirks left and right on the playing field and rotate them clockwise and counter-clockwise. When you get two Qwirks of the same colour together they will link together. Once you get four or more together they will disappear into the eighth dimension. The game ends when you are unable to keep up with the Qwirks and they fill your game screen.
There are three different game modes other than the regular play that you are able to take part in. There is a challenge mode where you will be competing against the computer, where you are trying to get multiple Qwirks together and then they will go over to your opponent’s game screen. Two players have the same aspect except you will be playing against another person. Challenge mode is a bit different than the other two modes. With challenge mode you are trying to complete already designed patterns that have fixed set of Qwirks.
Qwirks has been designed quite amazingly. In the challenge mode the computer opponents have been designed in 3D and the rest of the game has been done in SVGA. The sounds of the game are limited to in game music and a few game play sound effects. There is one sound effect that warns you of extra Qwirks being sent your way because of your opponent getting a group of Qwirks together.
Qwirks is a great game to play. With the game being designed around the all time famous Tetris with its own story; it is a great and addicting game to play. There isn’t too much difference between the two games other than the graphical designs and different playing modes. Qwirks is a great arcade multiplayer game that you can enjoy by yourself or with many of your friends. A phenomenal game with a lot of potential.
