Game Review (written by Lindsay2) Added on: 11/27/2007
Sid and Al Incredible Toons is a puzzle game that is great for people of all ages. The characters are Sid A. Mouse and Al E. Cat and they are quite cutely drawn and animated. It has over a hundred puzzles and a feature that allows the player to create his or her own puzzle. Both Sid and Al are just your typical cat and mouse trying to make life incredibly miserable for each other. They are one track minded creatures that enjoy making contraptions that will ultimately hurt one another.
Each puzzle is devised up of two windows. One window has the picture of the contraption that you need to add pieces to in order to make it work. The second window has pictures of possible pieces that you have to choose and place in the open spots of the first window. You then have to test the machine to see if it works. For example, in the first window you see a piano hanging from a rope and Al E. Cat is under it. You would obviously choose the open scissors from the second window and place them by the rope. That is just a very simple example. There are other more complicated puzzles that make the game more interesting. Every machine (or puzzle) that you will have to repair has the most crucial parts missing and require that you pick the right parts to get them working. The machines and parts range anywhere from simple rope and piano to more complicated ropes and pulley systems. There are even catapults, balloons, bombs, and electrical hairdryers. You may even run across trapdoors, anvils and motors. You never know what you will have to fix in this game and maybe you will even learn new ways to catch a mouse or even a cat.
The machines are simple looking 2D machines that you have to complete and test. Do you remember the old cat and mouse cartoons, like “Tom and Jerry” and “Wile E. Coyote and The Roadrunner”? Well these two characters are just like them except you get to control the machines and contraptions. I remember playing this game when I was younger and it kept me entertained and laughing for hours on end. My daughter would have a lot of fun playing this game like I did. It is very animated and the sound is pretty decent. If you like games like this one, you may also try playing the rest of the Incredible Machine series.
