Game Review (written by Coroner3344) Added on: 06/02/2007
I first started playing Tetris in 1989. I loved It and I was hooked. After about a year I then went around trying to find different versions of the game to compare to. One day I came across Atari's version of Tetris From Mirrorsoft. It was the same old tetris game as I have played before. But there was something about it. I found myself playing it more than any other version before it.
For those of You who have Never played Tetris before let me tell you how to play.
You will have different shaped pieces falling out the top of the game and need to fit them together and make A strait Line from left to right. At that time it will then disappear. When you clear a line it will show by your current score and how many lines you have cleared. If you can get 4 lines at once it is called a tetris. That Should be your main goal. When you finish The game, If You beat your score you will have a chance to put your name in on the leader board.
You will also have the stats so you see which pieces you have already used. Like any classic tetris game You Have The choice of different skill levels to choose from starting at 0 and ending at 9. "I usually like to start on level 5 so if I can't handle the speed there is always easyer skill levels for you to try out". When playing on level 9 it is very hard and almost uncontrollable, So always start before level 9 to build up the speed. I have never beat level 9 to see if it will go to level 10 or not, but that’s what makes Tetris so fun. On older versions of tetris you did not have the choice of spinning the piece around till it fit in the spot you want. That is the case with this version. Once it is down it isn’t going now where. But you can see what the next piece will be, which is always a good thing. When you pull down with the arrow or your controller or what ever you use, your piece will fall strait down, There is no stopping it so make sure it is in the right spot.
When I play Tetris it isn't about graphics, it's about performance. You have the same cheesy sound track you would expect from a tetris game. All in all I would definitely recommend this game to any one who loves Tetris as much as me. If you have never played Tetris before this is a good time to start. Who knows you may just like it.
