Game Review (written by Missjre) Added on: 11/07/2006
Tetris is one of the most popular classic games around, and with good reason. With eye-catching bright colours and increasing difficulty after passing each level, this game can become addictive to even the least-competitive person. Tetris is a single-player game. The object of the game is to achieve a high score through stacking blocks to form complete rows within the playing area, and not to let the blocks pile too high. Once the stack of blocks reaches the top, the game is over.
This game is great for testing your reflexes and logic skills.
Tetris is both simple and complex at the same time. It is simple in the sense that it only requires the use of the four arrows on your keyboard to move the blocks around, and complex in the sense that one must carefully strategize each move in order to keep the blocks from piling up. This becomes difficult when you reach a hard level. The game becomes complex as the speed of the dropping blocks increases and you have to scramble to move them around. For a challenge, you can make the blocks fall faster by pressing the down arrow to increase falling speed, or, if you feel very confident about your Tetris skills, you can begin at a level other than Level 1. This is a good tool to use if you do not have time to play a full game, or if you get bored at the slowness of the first few levels because you are an advanced player like me.
You can never get too good at Tetris because there is always another level to conquer. You always want to improve your reflexes and logic skills, and frequent Tetris gaming can help you do that. You can never get tired of Tetris because it is so addictive! (Well, at least it is to me.) The game is very repetitive, so if you desire a game that has dramatic changes at each level, you may not find Tetris too entertaining. If you love repetitive tasks, then Tetris is the perfect game for you! Especially if you find yourself playing Tetris more than once in one sitting. If you are a huge fan of Tetris like me, you can spend hours playing and totally forget about all of the work you are supposed to be doing. So be careful about time management, and enjoy! Tetris is a fun and cool game. I give it a rating of 10 out of 10.
