Game Review (written by Pheonixia) Added on: 07/18/2009
The Amulet of Yendor is a text based game made in 1985, made by the producers called Keypunch Software, Inc. In this game you start in a castle of sorts. This Castle is 8x8x8 with 64 rooms on each level, meaning in total 512 rooms in this game. There are also 12 types of monsters in the castle and for level 1 in recommends you to stay in rooms one to four on.
In this game you have a choice between four different races, For example, The Elfs, Dwarfs, Humans and the Hobbit, much like lord of the rings. You also have select your sex or gender either of course, Male or Female. The next part of your character making includes you obtaining 8 skill points to disperse among 3 different attributes either Strength, Intelligence or Dexterity. Also you obtain 60 coins to choose between 3 different types of armor with the plate at 30 coins, Chainbody at 20 coins, the Leather at 10 coins and nothing at all. You also have to select between 3 types of weapons, being the sword at 30 coins, the mace at 20 coins the dagger at 10 coins and nothing at all. You are also able to buy flares at one coin each.
My overall rating would be considering the age of this type of game about 81 out of 100.
