I first started playing this game when I was about ten. . . It's extremely addictive if you're into these types of games. It’s a mix of RPG and FPS. There are tons of side quests that you don't even need to finish to beat the game, kind of like Oblivion. You get to choose your character out of eleven races. You have health, magic, strength, intelligence, and a bunch of other stats. And you can only increase your stats when you level up.

There are two modes of play, the first one is kind of boring, because you don’t really get to walk around and explore the towns and stuff, but it’s easier, so maybe you should try it for your first go at
the game. The other mode is more the first person shooter type. You can go into caves, dungeons, cities, graveyards, et cetera, and you have first person view. You can do stealth, run or walk, jump, use magic spells, you even have magic jewellery that give you special powers like super fast run, walk on fire / lava / water, teleport, fly, or jump higher.
There are tons of weapons to choose from. Your ability with each type, like melee, bows, or swords, depends on things like your strength and speed and stuff. Weapons can also have enchantments like poison, electricity, slow an enemy down, and so on. Your class also determines what kind of weapons you can use, like in Baldur’s Gate.
There are three types of magic, which are Arcane, mysticism, and divine. Your character will have only a certain kind of magic it can use. Casting spells is kind of like alchemy though, you have to like line up runes in a certain order (you can buy ‘em at shops or find rare ones in caves and stuff). You can find combinations in peoples diaries though, or on dead wizards. The more runes you use, the more powerful the spell is, but once you know a lot, the game is much easier, because you have abilities like invisibility, walk through walls, telekinesis, night vision, heal, fly, destruction, and so on.
One of my favourite aspects of the game is food and water. . . You have to eat to have full health! You have a food/water meter basically instead of fatigue, everything you do makes you a little hungry and thirsty. You can find food and drinks anywhere, but you should buy them in towns and stuff, instead of relying on finding them in the wilderness.
Warning: If you have a job or kids, you shouldn't even start this game. You won't be able to stop!!! There are EASILY over 200 hours of gameplay here!
