The RPG "The Anvil of Dawn" desires much more critical respect than it gets at present! It easily merits a 7/10 rating, and has all the classic archaic features that many of today's modern games lack severely.
You start off the adventure by choosing from four different characters, each with their very own unique abilities. Simply choose whichever abilities you feel suits you personally. The storyline does differ slightly with each character, although they are all very closely intertwined. You will still encounter these other characters within the game that you didn't select though so don't panic if you made a wrong choice.
This is a brilliant touch!!!
The music is one of the key features of the game, with epic breathtaking scores for the time. Throughout the game the music never fails to disappoint and some of the sound effects are particularly enjoyable :P Come on now and give the game some more hype, you know it deserves it really. Just set up the volume to max and enjoy!
The graphics in the Anvil of Dawn are OK, I say this because often the viewer's pleasure is slightly impeded by blur making it hard to focus on various aspects of the and reducing the playability factor. This is mainly due to the fact that your proceeding may well depend on a switch or door that you couldn't identify clearly because
of poor visuals! Don't let this deter you though, it still makes for an excellent gaming experience, these problems are very rarely encountered and if like me you are playing the game for the 100th time, you have the added benefit of knowing exactly what you are looking for already.
The game engine, interface and game plot especially are all great and you WILL undoubtedly spend many valuable hours of your life on the game mainly because different stories are included, and the adept gamer has only truly completed the game when all scenarios are explored and completed. An absolute cracker has been conceived by Dreamforge Entertainment. Who needs Final Fantasy, Warriors of Might and Magic, or even Warcraft!!!? Such pleasure from such a simple and cheap game should surely demand respect, and Anvil of Dawn is definitely one which fits this noble category well!
