Dark Ages is a classic MMO Role Playing Game that was released in the late nineties. It was developed by Nexon and was released for Microsoft Windows. It is currently operated by KRU Interactive. It is a multiplayer game that was distributed primarily in an online context. Dark Ages features an awesome fantasy theme that has deep roots in ancient Celtic mythology. The inspiration for Dark Ages came from a Korean game known as Legend of Darkness. It also drew heavily from the fictitious works of H.
P. Lovecraft.
The story of Dark Ages delves into the Celtic legend of the Tuatha de Danaan, the ancient people of the British Islands who arrived in the land of Temuair. They were the founders of the civilization of Hy-brasyl and were original peaceful and in perfect harmony with nature. When a man is found murdered, everything changes. For the first time, the Children of Danaan begin to explore the outside world and its wonders. They learn to harness magic. They discover the home of the gods, Kadath. They learn to worship these gods, both dark and light, and temples and altars are constructed everywhere and priests begin to emerge. The Priests of the Dark Gods are mad for godly knowledge, and their
lust for knowledge and power causes the flooding of Hy-brasyl and all of those with forbidden knownledge.
Years go by and eventually the dark forces are recovered. The people had focused on the light gods, but when the dark ones immerge again, they find another following. Wars begin between the peoples. The user will have to learn to juggle many forces as he struggles to exist in this touchy world. Religion and politics will become factors. The user will create characters, choose their names, genders, hairstyle, and their alignments. He will also choose the class and can be anything from a Warrior to a Priest, fighting to protect the ways of the light.
Dark Ages presents a wonderful world of magic, filled with fairies, dark warriors and heroes of the wildest sorts. The quests are great fun and seem to metamorphose before the user’s eyes. Regardless of how good the user strives to be, he must recall that every light casts a shadow, and there is no end to the reaches of the forces of darkness. Surviving and thriving will be a struggle. This is an interesting game that users will love. It never seems to get old.
