Game Review (written by Jowall) Added on: 03/04/2007
SSI continues their great development with Death Knights of Krynn. Second in the Dragonlance series. Dragonlance is a classic series in the D&D canon and Krynn is the world in which it takes place. It's important to remember that this program will differ from the books. It is a completely different world. You are fighting the Dark Queen, but you're not going to just jump in with Tanis, Flint, Kitiara, Tas, Sturm, Goldmoon, etc... There are some default characters available, and they can be helpful.
The classes of characters are the same, you will find fighters, Knights of Solamnia, clerics, mages, thieves, etc. .. You'll need to balance out the composition of your group, and make sure all different abilities are represented. Complement one characters weakness with a strength. So if one person if a mage is low on strength and/or constitution, then make sure your fighter is strong in those categories. Make sure thieves have great dexterity. Mages need high intelligence, and clerics need to be high in wisdom.
The fight sequences are engaging and fun, while not being too complex to enjoy. and the intereaction among characters is fairly realistic for a game like this. If graphics are your bag, this is probably, not the best choice, but it is still good none the less.
Overall, this is a good game to try, just don't expect too much. I mean, the fact of the matter is that there are games today that are much more realistic and complex, but if you really wanted an experience like that, you wouldn't even be considering this game.
