Game Review (written by Lindsay2) Added on: 11/29/2007
Lord of the Rings 2: The Two Towers by Electronic Arts came out in 2002 around the holiday season and is classified as a role playing game. This game is based on part two of the movie series and it starts slightly before the first movie ends. Although in many people’s opinions, when you take a movie and turn it into a video game, it creates problems because they usually suck. The bad part is that when this game came out, the movie had not even come out yet, but was to follow shortly.
Since the movie had not yet come out into theatres yet, the game does have some scenes from it thrown in here and there. If you saw the first movie, then you will notice that this game has some really good resemblance to that in the aspect of the characters and the action.
The characters are not difficult to master, but they are not incredibly easy either. You choose a character, like Gandolph the Great or the hobbit and you go out and your goal of course is to finally get the one ring that controls all the others so it can be destroyed. You have a small team that goes with you, which are the characters that you did not choose to play as, and that makes the battles somewhat easier. Unlike some other action role playing games I have played, this game gives you very little time in between battles to recover from the previous fight. You have to stay on your toes because you are almost constantly fighting in this game.
There are about 12 levels in this game and you are earning points during each level. When you have successfully completed each level, you do have the option to buy upgrades for your characters and weapons by using your points, so your points are like money in this game. You can buy things like, increased strength, speed and much more powerful arrows. Some of the things you can buy are just new attack moves like 4 button combos and rushes. Another great feature of this game is that, like all role playing games, your characters progress as the game and levels go on. You do not have to worry about going back to the beginning of the game and starting over with each character because they all progress at the same time. This game pretty much gives you everything you need to be successful, but it is a harder one to master than most.

(02/09/2007) I love the books, love the movies,I love the game. there comes a time in everyones life when there pissed off at someone. this is when you wip out a hacknslash game and beat the living hell out of everything you see.welcome to LOTR: the two towers. Now this is a great game by some scale, the graphics are very good, the sound is good, the gameplay is rock solid, and etc. but the big promblems are: ITS SO SHORT, it took me 4 hours to beat. There is no point inplaying with other characters they are mostly all the same and the secreat character is not Gandolf. The other draw back is there in no multiplayer. The game crys out for it but I dont see it anywhere. Oh well while it last its a great game. I cant wait for the Return To King game, they have two player fighting.oh yeah |
