Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight is like an old flame you stumbled upon at the mall and when you actually hook up again you don’t know why you didn’t give it a chance. Moonstone is an action/RPG that was made in 1992 by Mindscape back when game developers were younger and not afraid of things like political correctness and "Simulated Violence". Once you get past the awful and unexplainable intro then you get to the options menu.
Yes one of the first options in the game is the gore or no gore option besides the number of players.

Yes one of the first options in the game is the gore or no gore option besides the number of players. Then the second option is the character selection screen though it may not seem very significant besides deciding on the color of your knight it actually decides
the difficulty of the surrounding environment of your knight. After that your on your own, the controls are very simple you use the arrow keys for movement and the enter key for the action button then the last key is the space key with which you use to open your inventory screen. At the beginning of the game you are on the world map screen and you can see your knight’s helmet and color.
The location of your knight corresponds with the color you choose earlier, and the actions of the AI will never be the same. It’s up to you to decide who you fight how you fight and where you fight. Such as when I went to fight some 12 foot tall trolls at the south-eastern marsh land. Bugger was they hard!! Had to run around so much that my fingers hurt and the gore!! My god the gore was marvelous!!! I got splattered into the ground so fast that my knight’s legs flew out in different directions. I can’t tell you how many times I died and how quick and/or gory it was.
The combat system is simple and yet completely complicated if you don’t know anything about it I suggest you look at http://moonstone.classicgaming.gamespy.com/index.htm for more information about the combat system and as a resource for the game. The character interaction is not to interesting but it is compelling enough to allow some feeling of bitterness when you don’t get what you want. And don’t go and visit Math a second time he won’t like the interruption but that’s up to you. All of this makes for a very good waste of an hour or if you’re as sadistic as I am a whole day. J Moonstone: A hard days Knight is a very entertaining game that allows you to reminisce in the good all days of 286’s and games that relied on game play and quality... not quantity.
Overall after playing and beating the game I have to give it 9 out of 10.
