Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 01/23/2008
Questron 2 is the sequel to the original Questron game. It is a role playing game that was released in 1988 by Strategic Simulations Inc.
The Wizard Merson has sent you back in time. The reason you were sent back in time is so you can defeat six mad sorcerers who are planning on creating the Book of Magic. As you go on with your missions, you can also explore your surroundings. The game is set in different surroundings such as castle, dungeons, the countryside and others.
You will have to explore two continents in the game- Landor and the Realm of Sorcerers.
At the start of the game, you will play a peasant with a few coins and an awful attitude. You must fight off enemies to earn money and to level up. As you explore the countryside you will be faced with all kinds of monsters and when you get to the towns you can buy foods and other items and even gamble to earn more money. You will also need to solve puzzles and the more puzzles you solve the more advanced your character’s skills become. You will be able to do advanced magic and will also have access to better weapons when you solve plenty of puzzles.

is exactly what you would expect from a game released in the 80s. The sounds could have been better.
The game is pretty challenging so it will take you a while before you complete it. The interactions with characters are pretty limited too, but you can get valuable information from the Trolls. There are some monsters that are easier to defeat than other and you will learn as you go along the game which monster you can easily beat up. One thing that made this game difficult to manage is the lack of maps. Yes, there are no maps which is pretty much standard on role playing games. It shouldn’t bother you if you like challenges but it does take a lot of patience to finish this game.
It should be the perfect game for experienced gamers who like tough challenges in their games. It’s not the best role playing game, but it can be engaging at times so download it and give it a try. Really even with the average graphics and sounds and the lack of map it’s still a fun game. I’d say it’s still worth downloading.
