This is a role-playing, sci-fi adventure game released by Electronic Arts in 1989. Considering that this game was released more than a decade ago, it’s amazing how this remains a highly entertaining game to this day.
The game is not easy and will require many hours to finish even for the most experienced gamers. The story is also pretty long which is why it will really take you many hours to finish it.
You will lead 5 Federation officers in the Caldorre system in search of raiders.
You need to successfully defeat the raiders, find their base and ultimately destroy it. The game involves strategy and adventure and has enough challenges to keep a player pumped and excited throughout the game.
The most part of the game is 2D but there are some parts of the game such as corridors that are 3D.
What’s great about this game is you don’t have to necessarily follow the main plot all the time. You can deviate from it and go exploring the game and then just come back to the main plot of the game. You will enjoy the many sub-quests as you enjoy the main plot of the game.
When you interact with the other characters in the game, you will
be given choices on how you will respond to the character when conversing. Just like in real life, the attitude of other characters to you and the future choices you will have to make with regards to your interaction with the character will depend on your initial choice. Sometimes the best choice is not always obvious so you will likely end up with a bad “conversation” that will prevent you from successfully finishing the game.
Some parts of the game require you to read from its booklet so if you’re just downloading the game without the booklet, you may have a hard time finishing the game. You can still do it though but you will have to do a lot of guessing. This can be fun at times and frustrating too. But it shouldn’t discourage you from getting this game because it is extremely fun to play.
This game has a good combination of interesting game play that will keep you interested for a very long time and I highly recommend it to everyone. The good graphics, the well-made story and the game play will not disappoint even the most die-hard RPG fans.
