Game Review (written by Azviking) Added on: 11/15/2007
Really enjoyed this space fighting and exploration game. The graphics are decent and game play is cool. The Space battles look really colorful while the inside ship battles are a little less graphic.
You start off with just a weak scout ship, a few crew members, and some weak weapons. You eventually can obtain impressive battleships and nuclear weapons. You mission is to basically defend the earthling's triangular area from invaders. You can land on hundreds of planets and perform everything from scientific research to espionage runs.
Enemies come in hundreds of different forms. At the beginning you encounter only pirates and insect ships.
The ships weapons were one of my favorite parts of the game. You could carry missiles which you have extra ammo to keep them firing. Lasers are also available. These need no extra ammo and always fire. The missiles look really corny, while the lasers look really cool.
The crew members have a really unique training system. You are able to order which kind of warrior they will become be it marine, pilot, and soldier. Then you choose which classes they take for basic training. You can make them take classes to improve their strength and other stats as well as classes that improve their various skills. Some of these classes are called: survival school, medical, light arms, heavy arms, pilot, chemical weapons, explosives, and officer school.
The ships are highly customizable. You can add armor to them to make them take more punishment before becoming a pile of rubble. Missile defense systems and shields are also available. Hundreds of weapons from Gauss rifles to nuclear missiles are available. Defense capabilities such as immensely powerful thrusters are also available.
In conclusion, this is truly and awesome game. You progress from a weak ship with weak crew members to a titanic ship with invisible warriors. Weapons are my favorite part of the game. The crew members have an amazing recruitment system. Finally, the ships are easily customizable. I highly recommend downloading this game!
