As you start this extraordinary game you are summoned by a General to discover if rumors are true of evil villains and creatures that plan to attack the city of Caergoth. Your party of characters are transported into the world of Krynn where the rumors of evil threats are soon discovered to be true. Only YOU, the player can now save the world from the evil presence of The Dark Queen of Krynn.
Start in the renowned city of Palanthas and adventure through the Caegoth maze.
Leaving these areas behind, your characters are taken onto the Captain Daenors ship and adventure the seas. The scope of this game is huge.
This game like SSI’s Dungeon and Dragons classic games entices all lovers of the same genre. From making your party of characters (and being able to modify the characters after their creation for the more less risk taking gamers) and arming them at the local weapons store (or from the battle field of your fallen foes) this game brings all of the great aspects of Dungeons and Dragons Advanced into a game that captivates the players imagination and strategic mind.
This game continues and concludes the series of games, “Champions of Krynn” and “Death Knights of Krynn”. You are still able to
bring your characters across from the previous games giving an epic tale for the characters that you have brought up from their beginnings of first level to the ‘teen’levels.
The combat system in my opinion is before its time and has not been emulated to the same level of play again on a turn by turn player basis. From the ranged combat to spells (even though not with the affects of today however) the combat system mixed with the walk around view in the top left of the screen has added story and excitement. The planning of your characters equipment prior to a huge battle to running into random encounters un-expectably with minimum weapons and arrows, no spells memorized and a cleric unconscious has been greatly re-captured for the computer. Transporting Dungeons and Dragons to computer gamers The Dark Queen of Krynn has done it better with improved graphics, sound and added affect to the combat.
For anyone that loves this genre I can highly recommend having this game to their collection. Even download the two previous titles to play the entire series with the same characters to add to the whole adventure of the games.
