World of Legend - Sons of Empire is a classic among RPG games. Developed in 1992 at the revolution of RPGs, this one did not quite gain the respect of most critics and/or players, but has the genuine feel of an RPG none the less. Not very well known and has a sort of feel to it that makes you reminisce about dungeons and dragons if you ever played as a little kid (or if you still do). In this sequel to "Legend of Worlds 1: This Time it's War" they have updated it to an isometric 3D view.
Similar to Infantry developed by Sony (yet the graphics do not compare as the year it was produced was much earlier then the latter). Like most RPGs you start off by building a character so to speak, giving him stats/attributes in the fields you see fit. It could also be considered a RTS, or real-time-strategy game, where you can see your enemies marching towards you (kind of like a risk video game). You can actually watch as day turns to night and vice versa. It takes place in the east where you have the ability to take control of four main characters: barbarian, runemaster, assasin and troubadour. This game consists of puzzles, dungeons, and armies that you will constantly run into. While

the terrain is changed from the prequel it is very much the same game with updated features. You are also able to upload your characters from the original game with all of their gold, weapons and any level enhancements you may poses. However you are able to create a brand new character if you see fit. In contrast to other games of the same genre, produced in the same era the scores I see would probably average out to about an 8.5. Graphics: 8, Gameplay: 9, Sound: 7, Addictive: 9. In comparison this game (in my opinion) is somewhat similar to the Monkey Ssland serious in its puzzles. It's similar to Risk in the whole army idea and RTS aspect of it. The RPG aspect ties with either Secret of Mana or one of the original Final Fantasies, I can't quite put my finger on it but they're both similar in the style of gameplay, although I would have to say one dominates the other in fun factor. To conclude, if you enjoy the original, then you will enjoy this much more.
