Aerobiz Supersonic is one of those classic games that you always want to come back to. The game play was (for its time) very innovative. In Aerobiz Supersonic, your goal as CEO of an airliner, is to have the most amount of passenger in a selected amount of regions (ranging from 4 to 7, depending on your difficulty level) while still generating profits in a 20 years span.
Graphics : While the graphics aren't the best in the world, they still get the job done.
It is a 2d, classical SNES, GENESIS graphics engine. In game customization is possible for the color of your aircraft.
Game play : This is where Aerobiz Supersonic shines. You choose a starting city in one of 7 regions of the planet : North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Oceania. The goal is to open routes from your main city inside your region and after to open regional hubs in selected regions ; usually the ones where you have the most chance at being #1 in the region.
However, routes have to be fine tuned to be profitable. You need to select the correct plane for your route. Having a plane with too many seats will not get you
enough passengers in your quarter review to be profitable. On the opposite, having a much larger plane that is empty will cost too much in fuel and maintenance to make your route profitable.
To sustain your routes, you also can buy businesses. A wide variety in every city is available to you. Hotels, for example, will increase your overall income at the end of the quarter. Boat cruises on the other hand will attract more passengers to the selected city.
A wide variety of planes is available to you. Depending on which era or "plane age" as the game calls it, you will have different companies opened for you that will gladly sell their aircraft to a young entrepreneur like you. Traditionally, planes from Airbus and Boeing will be the larger aircraft, while Lockheed and Tupolev supply you with smaller, more fuel efficient aircraft. Every craft comes with information of seats, fuel efficiency and the distance they can travel so that you can buy the correct aircrafts for specific routes.
In conclusion, Aerobiz Supersonic is, overall, a great game to play, where you will spend countless hours trying to dominate the world with your aircrafts. A classic that everyone should try.
