Game Review 1 (written by Kingoflife) Added on: 09/11/2007
Car builder is an absolutely superb example of modern graphics and gameplay coming together. Forming a relationship of such complexity and brilliance. Initially it must be said that car builder lacks the degree of selection that is usually associated with this type of game, maybe the developers looked to cut costs, however this lack of selection doesn't impair the actual enjoyment of the game.
In many respects the game acts as a virtual reality, in such as that one can build cars, but not real cars just cars on a computer screen. This format is similar to many other computer games where you don't in fact do something real but a computer generated version of reality. But let’s not lose focus.
Simply put and at its essence car builder is a car buildings game in which one builds cars through the portal of the computer generated reality. Every part of a car can be built or changed including the tyres, something I found of huge personal interest, as I am in reality a tyre salesman.
One can also change engine and also the chassis, (for those of you who don’t know the chassis is the car itself, its shape).
Despite its simplicity I found it to challenge even me. I learnt so much about cars from this game, before I knew nothing of the intricacies of wheels. One can test aerodynamics in a wind tunnel. I would give this game 6/10.
Game Review 2 (written by Rabbit84) Added on: 08/31/2007 This is definitely one of those games for all young car enthusiasts. The way of the game is structured is you start off nice and slow building and designing you own little hot rod although. The game is an old model game, but with rather good graphics!
It has many great features like the aero demonic you can customer the car so she fly’s along the road like an F1 it is definitely a boys games but ladies give it a go its loads of fun for all ages great colours and mapping styles for your paint job.
And as for the setup of the game in its self it is great to navigate way through the whole set up from designing or car to engines and modes it makes it all a slice of cake and you can save your cars as you go so you can design as many as you like.
I was excited of this game! It’s wonderful! And I highly recommend it for all ages! I’m sure you’ll also like it! It’s got my vote 10/10. Happy gaming!

Chris (09/13/2007) Something a bit different, worth a try. Maybe not the most exciting game on the planet but it makes a change from the usual things. Game play is OK but fundamentally you're not going to break into a sweat playing this.Robespierre (09/09/2007) I really enjoy this game! (11/13/2006) Car Builder is a moderately fun game, given how old it is. I remember messing around with this program in grade school. That was in the early nineties. The game is not jaw dropping, in terms of graphics. It is however fairly accurate in it's assessment of how all the components that you pick for your car would perform. One thing that I enjoyed was messing with the aerodynamics and trying to get as low of drag as possible. It's interesting to learn about things like that, because that's the sort of thing that car manufacturers go through on every vehicle long before the public is out spending their hard earned dollar on locomotion. I really can't vouch for the authenticity or accuracy of the wind tunnel/ road tests in the game, but I can say that for myself it was very enjoyable to see my creation in action and try to tweak a few more mph's out of it. |
