Chickens 2 is the sequel to the freeware title by the same author, Martin Magnusson. The original game was released for play on the personal computer in the DOS operating system in the middle nineties, and Chickens 2 followed two years later in 1998. Both games were designed by Brainchild Design and are considered action games of the shooter genre.
Unlike the original Chickens game, Chickens 2 does not allow the user an unlimited supply of bombs that drop from the sky and create chicken carnage on the simplistic environment below the bright blue sky.

Chickens 2 requires the user to point and click with the mouse on the chickens he wishes to destroy. Still, the point of the game remains reasonably the same…kill as
many chickens as possible on the lush landscape and let as few as possible escape. Chickens 2 is possibly senseless violence at its best. There is absolutely no point to this game whatsoever except for to kill chickens.
The game does get somewhat more difficult as it continues. There are more and more little yellow chicken (technically making them chicks, I suppose) as the game progresses. Still, the user just has to develop faster fingers, and likely carpal tunnel syndrome in an effort to stop the birds from escaping.
Ironically, both Chickens and Chickens 2 were met with rampant criticism concerning the senseless violence in both, and animal rights activists were concerned about the cruelty to animals factor involved in repeatedly bombing and shooting virtual chickens. This concern caused the writer of the games to actually issue a statement proclaiming that no chickens were harmed during the making of the game and that he is not actually advocating violence toward chickens. It is just a game. This statement can actually be found in the Read Me file of Chickens 2: "Absolutley NO chickens were harmed in the production of this game! I do not wish to hurt or create uncomfort for any chickens. The chickens in this game are NOT REAL and have no feelings whatsoever. Ok, now you can blow up those virtual chickens without getting a bad conscience.”
So, I suggest you take his advice and download Chickens 2. It could provide some tongue-in-cheek stress release for those of us who just need to get out a little pent up frustration. Take it out on a virtual chicken instead of your fellow man.
