Crisis in the Kremlin is a political simulation game where you can choose to be either Yegor Ligachov (a hardliner), Boris Yeltsin (a nationalist), or Mikhail Gorbachov (a reformist). Depending on who you choose will depend on your popularity with the people. Also who you decide to be will determine the list of choices you get to make. If you do not like political simulation games, then you really should not even bother to play this game. You get to run the Soviet Union and the decisions you make, will depend on how well your country gets run and how well you can survive being a dictator. Your choices on foreign and domestic policies can also determine whether or not you will get thrown out of office. It is a cold war era game, so you have to make your decisions based on those times and not today. You get to make decisions on how much to pay your people, control of the press and media, and the military stance. You control many aspects of the Soviet Union just as you would if you were really in control in real life. Along with these normal everyday decisions you have to make, you will also have “crisis” situations arise.
The graphics in this game are fantastic! There is really good sound. The way the game starts and ends are completely up to you. It is a great game if you like political simulation and decision making. The game is great for the time that it came out as far as political simulator games go. It can be easy going at first, but later on it can get very frustrating because not everyone will like and agree to the decisions that you make.
All in all, I love this game! It’s very challenging and educational! I highly recommend it to everybody!
