F-22 Lightning 2 is a flight simulator game that was released by NovaLogic Incorporated. It is the sequel to the first flight simulation game from F-22. The game was released in the mid-nineties. The game will have you playing and American fighter jet pilot. The game plays similarly to the original game. The main difference now is that you are flying an F-22 Lightning fighter jet plane.
The game, although a simulation game, is not highly realistic. It may not feature the most realistic cockpit and scenarios but the game is still packed with action.
The game is really more of an action game than it really is a flight simulation game. The game does not give you the same feeling of being inside a real aircraft cockpit and flying dynamics and physics aren’t featured in the game. The game lacks the details and the elements to bring you in the game and make you feel like you are truly flying a fighter aircraft. The handle does not feel real.
There is a single mission mode where you can tae on quick missions. But there is also the campaign mode where the pilot plays to advance his career. In the campaign mode, the missions are interrelated. The game also supports multi-player gaming. You can choose to compete against
a human opponent or you can play a cooperative game and work together. The game has pretty good graphics for a DOS game. The backgrounds are all well done with good details. The three-dimensional map also comes with great textures and details. There is a camera that gives the players different views of the map.
I like this game because the user interface is very simple and easy to manage. If the game concentrated more on becoming more realistic I’m sure the game would also become more complicated. But it’s not so simple as to become incredibly easy and boring. The game can be pretty challenging because the game has really good AI.
This may not be the best choice for gamers who want realism in their simulation games but if you just want a game that is packed with action and fun then this game will already work for you. When you download this game just keep in mind that the game is really more of a turn and burn flight simulation game.
