Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 02/16/2008
Knights of the Sky is a World War I flight simulation game. There are many flight simulation games that features modern planes and many more games based on the World War II but the Knights of the Sky is just one of several flight games based on World War I. At the start of the game you will be given a choice to fly one of the twenty aircrafts. You will engage in different missions from stand-alone games to a full campaign, all set in during the World War I.

In the game you will be fighting against enemy air crafts, engage blimps, or hit targets on the ground. The

game gives you the real experience of the real days of air battles. The game captures the tense feeling a rickety plane from the 1910’s. The game gives you a clear view of the game and the cockpit is not cluttered with all these technical and high tech gadgetry that bugs down some of the modern flight simulation games. There are also not much of the technical jargons that also make other games heavy and difficult.
Surprisingly the planes are pretty easy to handle and it can be pretty easy to attack planes after you have spotted them. What makes this game even more interesting is how you have to follow landmarks and the compass to find your way while flying the plane. This means the game is even more interactive and engaging and the results of the game are based on your skills and not just on the gadgetry that are available to you.
The game allows you to go online to challenge other Knights of the Sky players. The game does not give you the rush of flying a modern plane but it does give you a good feeling of nostalgia. The game features graphics similar to another simulator game- Wings. Of course the aircraft cockpit is not cluttered. The environments are colorful and full of details.
This game is a true gem and is worth the hard disk space. This is my favorite among the flight simulation games. It’s not complicated and it has good graphics and good sounds. The game is really satisfying even the difficulty level is good for gamers who want enough challenges in their games.
