It’s a very addictive game. The graphics are not all there compared to games that come out now but back then they were really good but overall the game had easy controls and good game play. I really like the idea of a Lotus game because Lotus is a very nice car company and I love that type of car. Many people think that this was the best racing game ever released on DOS, I’m not sure if I agree with that assessment but I do agree it was a very good game for its time.

The biggest flaw in my opinion is the fact that you can not smash your car, I think that is one of the coolest
things in new games when you smash your car and you notice scratches and dents in it, but the makers of Lotus decided it would be better if your car could not be damaged and instead could run right though signs and hit other cars and remain unscathed. Now available is three cars as well!!! Lotus 3 now has 3 cars, the new one is the swish green M200. The M200 is a good all around car, being faster than the Elan (but not as good at handling) and better handling than the Esprit (but not quite as fast).
I usually turn the music off and just use sound effects, cause the music tends to tune out most of the sound effects anyway, which angers me to say the least. They also offer a REC’s which lets you build your own track! Its really not much compared to what you can do in games today but it was hardcore back then. There you have it then, Lotus 3 has a few good extra features. The only other thing wrong with this game besides not being able to crash is its speed. The processor wasn’t very good on DOS but back in that day what processor would be considered fast now? I recommend this game to you! Have fun!
