Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/26/2007
Megafortress is an interactive flight simulator. You as the player will be in charge of a crew who will be flying the B-52 bomber. This plane has been modified and equipped with the latest weapons and has over the top technology. You will take part in a campaign based out of Iraq, and one mission-taking place in the Soviet Union.
The game has a lot of features available to work with. You will be on a tactical screen where you can select a variety of options for your missions. After you’ve set everything up you will begin doing bombing runs and simulation raids. Once you’ve selected your missions and thought them out strategically you will be able to begin the objectives that are done in each mission. With a total of thirty missions, you know this game is going to take some time to complete, but will be worth the while.
Megafortress has been done is a third person view where you will see the aircraft and cockpit. The views in the game have been done with a lot of detail in mind. There is a great deal of gray coloring done in this game, but that doesn’t make this game less appealing.
The game has been based around the book “Flight of the Old Dog” which was written by Dale Brown. If you’ve read the book you will see that the game does go in depth just as much as the book. With this game being based on a book, you right off the bat know it is going to have some dramatic game play just so it resembles the writer’s story line.
The controls in Megafortress can become quite difficult if you are not similar with flight simulators. After a little while of playing and reading the manual, you will begin to get the hang of the controls and you’ll find this game to become far easier and better to enjoy.
Megafortress is a phenomenal game for those who have experience flight simulators in the past. With the great deal of detail done with the graphics and the story line you will not be disappointed with this game at any moment. Once you’ve discovered the controls and what you are supposed to take part in mission wise, you’ll be taking part in a very thrilling game. Megafortress has so many appealing parts to it that it has endless game play, even if you’ve completed it already. With the ability to change mission options this game isn’t only thirty missions; it is endless missions to your heart content. I highly recommend downloading it immediately! I’m sure you’ll de satisfied and impressed!
