Microsoft Space Simulator

PC
Genre:  Simulation    |     Year: 1994    |     Publisher: Microsoft     |     Developer: BAO Ltd.
Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/17/2007
Microsoft Space Simulator is the addition to all the Microsoft simulations out there. This simulation will be taking through the universe. You will be exploring the galaxy in a variety of different ships. Some examples of the ships that you will be travelling in are ones like the space walking MMU to the gigantic Zander Freighter. You will be able to go through and explore comets, nebulae, and other things like those. There are nine different missions that will show you how in depth the simulator will go.
With the option of autopilot for your space shuttle, you will be able to explore the universe to your hearts content.
There are some great features that come with this game. There are fourteen different spacecraft models to choose from, a variety of destinations to see, the spacecraft panel allowing you to see the altitude and velocity, the availability of video recording and taking screen shots, predefined missions which are missions that are in the history books today, autopilot and flight computer, observatory mode which allows you to look at the stars and other clusters, and last but not less slew control mode. With all these excellent features available the game has so many options to choose from making it even more exciting.
Microsoft Space Simulator can be quite educational for the mind. You will be learning about outer space while at the same time learning about the different kinds of space shuttles that there are today. Games like this can give the young mind tons to think about making it a great game for all ages, especially those who are quite interested in space and how you’d get there.
The planets and moons that you will visit do look quite real. Most do have real names of planets and moons that you would find in your science textbook. This space simulator goes as in depth as it possibly can when it comes to how realistic it is. With the capability to travel through the universe you can go to many planets and moons to see what it is like there. This game does not have any combat in it, but it is not needed, as there is so much to go through on its own.
Microsoft Space Simulator is not difficult whatsoever; it is more adventurous and exciting. With the capability to travel through the outer space while controlling one of the fourteen space shuttles there is no way you will not want to explore as much as possible. This game is highly addicting and no matter what, you will soon be exploring what you could never believe existed until you saw it with your own to eyes.

I found it very difficult but grew used to it and loved it. It kept me going early into the morning when I was supposed to be sleeping. I recommend it to anyone looking for fun!

It is very entertaining and can provide long hours of fun it just isn't like flying a real plane. But then you are just in front of a computer, so I can't ask for a real simulation can I? Play it and have fun.

Found it difficult at first, grew to like it the more I played it. Have played many games that were far worse and a few that were far better, but seemed to fall in the above average area for play and usability. Give it a try, have fun.
