Wow. Now THIS game takes me back! I borrowed it off a friend in grade 5 and threw it on the old 486sx. It was pretty groundbreaking in spite of its sometimes confusing interface. The graphics were full 3D, offering an isometric view of the playing field, and looked pretty good, at least Longbow quality. The start of a mission usually has your team of 4 - 5 grunts dropped via rope from a helicopter, and from there you follow waypoints to accomplish your objectives.
The graphics, as good as they are, will be your greatest opponent at times.
Trying to co-ordinate your team through hot keys and trying to keep ones eye on your "6" is sometimes tricky, but handlable. Squad selection has a menu with mugshots of your available SEALs, which then breaks down into the equipment selection screen. Individual members can be equipped as you'd like, and squad positions can be assigned: Rifleman, Pointman, etc. Once on the ground you can order your team to give you Cover Fire, to hit the dirt, or to fire on you targets with hot-keys. I recall liberal use of the "Fire at Will" command. Its weapon selection was what really grabbed me, from the deadly, silenced M1911A1 .45ACP or "Hush-Puppy",

to the M72 40mm Grenade Launcher aka "Boomer". The sounds were pretty good, nothing to rave about, but for it's age how realistic can it get? Battlefields vary slightly, but where this game really excelled was the option to develop intricate tactics for base infiltration using silenced weapons and stealth, a first for it's time in PC Sims. Or you can just blow the damn doors off with air strikes and storm the fort, guns blazing.
The manual that was included was pretty sweet, a faux SEAL Operations Manual, and it was pretty much required to play the game effectively. The Hot-key lists are a must-know section or this game will quickly become the bane of your existence.
It's a solid game and a great time killer, download it.
