Game Review 1 (written by Veilshield) Added on: 08/28/2006
SimFarm for Windows is such an addicting game. You'd be surprised just how much such a simple game can boggle you. From starting out slow with one or two fields and maybe 2 trucks transporting your goods to town to creating a vast farm with over 50 different fields of different crops.
The reason that this game is so much fun is it was one of the original simulator games of its time. The aspects of it are very much like real life farming.
You have to make sure that the crop your trying to sell is in season, looking at how the stocks are for a certain type of farm, checking to make sure that your machinery isn't about to break down. And you also have to take care of your crops, using pesticides and the likes. The only downfalls of this game that I saw was you couldn't hire more farmers to help your farm go smoother/run faster and the fact that you couldn't breed your farm animals...you just had to keep buying more whenever they died/got sold. Other than that this is a pretty solid game.
The way I used to play it was start out small with potatoes or something like that...then after I amounted a bit of cash...I would switch to all oranges. I forgot how much the payout was for the fields, but it was the largest in the game and the oranges seemed to be in season just about all year round.
I would recommend this game to any upcoming farming tycoon that might need a few tips because like I had stated before, there really isn't all that much of a difference from this game to the real life aspects of farming. After playing it so vigorously for a few years, I feel that I am almost ready to head down south, pick out a plot of land and start setting myself up for having a huge farm and make that real money. So I leave with you this bit of advice, if you’re bored and at home and ready to become an aspiring farmer, this game is for you!

Game Review 2 (written by Hummy57) Added on: 08/28/2006
I remembered playing Sim-Farm back when I was in grade school. It was the only game that would make the time goes by. It is a blast to play. You are a farmer that owns a plot of land and you get to decide what to do with the land. You can grow fruit, produce, and tobacco and even raise animals. The game play is fun and will keep you entertained for hours.
I would have to say that my favorite part is about the game play is raising animals. I do not know, maybe for the money, but it is fun and I enjoy it. How you get to be your own land owner and you get to rise whatever you want to. I animals are small on screen but you get the basic idea. When an animal is born you will here a sound and you will be able to see that animal grow to maturity. You get to put up fences and you get to be a real life farmer.
I like the idea that this games put forth. It teaches you how to make a buck and manage a farm. You can make a fortune on this game and you can lose the farm. The game makes you think about the placements of each part of your farm because you are limited on space. I like the fact that you are held responsible for the livelihood of the animals. You have to feed and water them. Also you have to care for them.
You also have to deal with Mother Nature. There could be a drought, a heat wave or a tornado. Animals escape into the pasture and eat the crops. Once that happens you need to repair the fences and replant the crops. This way you will stay in business. It is just like being a real farmer. You never know what is going to be thrown at you. You have to get used to what happened and move on with your farm. This is your main source of income on the game. Also, when you sell your crops, animals and produce you have to be careful not to get ripped off or you will lose the farm. I really enjoy the fact that you need to decide if you will spray your crops or will you let Mother Nature help.
I would suggest this game to anyone that it excited about the SIM series of games. It is a fun simulation to play and it is challenging enough to last for hours of game play. I really enjoyed this game a lot and it is a fun time for all ages.
Sim-Farm is a really fun game to play.

This game was the classic game when I was younger. Nothing would make time fly by on a rainy day like Sim farm. A new up to date version would be amazing to have, especially on those slow days at work.

This is the best farming sim I have ever played. It is fun to just click the screen sell some strawberries and oranges, and the like. I also like the cattle option. It does not take long to get 40000 dollars if raising oranges and strawberries in the right places.

This is a great game, for nearly any aged gamer. If your 8 or 38, this game is addicting. If you like simulation games, this is the only game I know of where you can own your own farm.

I loved playing sim farm when I was in computer class back in 5th grade it was time consuming when I had nothing to do. Even though the graphics are "so" yesterday. It’s still fun to play, it teaches you how to do business, and if you wanted to become a farmer it showed you the basics. Now that games are getting better graphics it’s nice to know that no one has forgotten the games of the past.

What an awesome game! Nowhere else can you run a farm for fun or profit like this one.

Cheetah214 (08/28/2006)
Fun game, although not as realistic as one would like it to be. Living on a farm, I found a few inaccuracies and there's some ideas I would've liked to have seen added, but for an average person, it's a fun little game.
