Speedkar is a classic game that really has an old school look and feel to it. It is a straightforward maze game that involves maneuvering a race car. You need to drive the race car and collect flags. In the process of collecting all the flags you must avoid the enemies and overcome the different obstacles like rocks and mines. There are no weapons available to you. You just have to be really smart about finding your way around the maze to be able to elude the enemy cars.
If you’re not careful, you will surely find yourself trapped. You can pick up the flags by passing on them.
You can also create a smoke screen to confuse the enemy cars. The problem with puffing smoke to the air is it uses up more fuel. There is a fuel meter on the top of the screen that shows the level of the car’s fuel. When your fuel becomes empty you can continue to play the game by coasting alone. The problem with this situation is, you can’t drive fast so it will become very difficult to avoid enemy cars. When you lose fuel, you need to avoid enemy cars until you find a gas tank that will refill your car’s engine
with gas.
The game screen is divided into two. On the right side you will find a map of the maze that show where your enemies and where the flags are. On the left of the screen you will have a view of the maze as you go through it. As you go through the maze you will also find other bonus items like coins that give you additional points.
The obstacles in the game produce different results, some more damaging than others. For example a hitting a wall will not cause in the loss of your car’s life but will only cause it change direction. But when you run over a mine, you will automatically lose a life.
The graphics of the game is colorful and fun and the sounds also add to the whole old school feel of the game. The controls of the game are easy and anyone can play this game even the young players.
The best thing about the game is it is wholesome and fun and really takes you back to the 80s. It is completely old school but totally entertaining. I recommend this game to anyone who likes a simple game that they can enjoy for many hours.
