Street Rod 2 is a fantastic and addictive game ever! Money is earned by challenging drivers to a variety of races, including road obstacles and drag races. Your winnings can later be spent on better parts or eventually a better vehicle! Should you be game, you can risk your own vehicle in order to obtain your opponents. This is a very good way of earning fast cash, but alas the risk can leave you vehicle-less, which actually can lead to a game over if you haven't got enough cash to scrape together for an old bomb.
The graphics are colorful clear visuals and nice car models. A very nice touch is the visible effects that car modifications have on the vehicles. It's highly satisfying seeing your supercharger pop out beyond the bonnet on your Dodge Viper.
The music is well and melodious!
The concept of the game is very simple and there isn't really much of a story line to follow, other than a couple of "heated" rivalries with some drivers, but there's enough here to maintain interest. The driving mechanics are fun but pretty hard to control, unless you stick to drag races. When you're driving, the car looks like its stationary while the road moves so it's tough to know when a corner is coming up until you're actually in
it! Once you've mastered it though, you'll have a pretty easy time of beating the other races, with the right car that is.
Many, many options in terms of car customization keep the game from getting stale too quickly. You'll have to be clever about the way you drive your vehicle or you could end up overheating your engine or blowing your transmission. You can even set your gear ratio to get peak performance out of your car.
Street Rod 2 is a very entertaining game that one can spend hours attending to the needs of their dream car. It's easy to pickup and race straight away so it caters for those who aren't so into the idea of tinkering beneath the bonnet. I highly recommend downloading it immediately!
