Game Review (written by Nebulae87) Added on: 02/13/2007
Euro fighter 2000 is one, if not the only elite flight simulator of the 90's. I first player EF2000 when I got it in a JANES box, which included: ATF Gold, Apache Longbow, and of course EF2000. If I knew how great it would be, I would've played it first out of the three. I played ATF gold, which was good, then after a couple of months, I played Apache Longbow, it was okay. Then I played EF2000, and I was blown away.
The graphics are amazing. Moving trains are visible in certain rural areas, as well as the tunnels that were built for them going into the mountains .The aircrafts featured in the game, are highly realistic and move, and operate identical as their real life counterparts. The aircraft bases are highly detailed, from ammo crates, to fuel drums, from wheel blocks, to hanger bays. This game has it all.
When you fly into cities, the buildings are highly detailed as well and you get the urge to fly in between them from time to time. The cockpit, in which you're sitting in, is highly detailed as well, from the pilots moving arm, to his hand on the joystick, to rudder pedals and instrumentation. While you're in the cockpit, you can observe the landscape around you. Visible wing flaps and rudders react in real time.
The AI is amazing as well. When you engage into some hairy dog fighting, don’t expect to get off easy. These AI pilots seem like the real deal in which they pretty much make you shiver in your flight suit. From sidewinder missiles, to fulcrum air cannons, you'll be hooked for hours in exciting dog fights.
These euro fighters are also equipped with realistic parachutes when you land. So if you have to refuel and are limited to a shortened landing strip, land as soon as possible, and deploy that parachute from the rear of the aircraft and you'll avoid being turned into rubble.
The eject feature also is a fun characteristic in this simulator. Just in case you have no way of shaking off those locked on missiles with your chaffs and flares, hit that eject button, and off you go. Free from death, but also free from an aircraft.
These single missions are filled with hours and hours of enjoyable gameplay. Which will keep you coming for more. If you want a realistic flight simulator free from glitches and unrealistic AI, this is the way to go. So strap on that flight suit, put on your helmet, and get ready for an experience only real pilots get to have, in this highly realistic and highly detailed flight simulator.

Rgswenk (03/24/2008) Years ago this was the smoothest flight sim out for decent frame rate on the computers at that time.Restoreit69 (01/22/2008) Played EF 2000 on TEN network, It was a BLAST with 5-6 players! TEN was the Total Entertainment Network back in the late 90's. Nascar racing simulation was the big draw, but they had EF 2000 and a couple more games. They were the real pioneers of online multiplayer gaming. Before that there was only code name "Hawaii" by papyrus for Nascar sim, I had a few phone bills that the wife was not pleased about!Walterpidgeon20 (01/15/2008) This game was fantastic, I have just spent ages looking around the house for my original disc copy.Tyrfryrta88 (07/08/2007) I love this game.
