US Navy Fighters is a quality first person flying PC game which was originally available in the mid 1990's. Players are given the option of flying several high performance military aircraft, among them, the F-14 Tomcat of Top Gun fame, the F/A-18 Hornet and the naval version of the F-22, (which never actually panned out). Players are also given the option of flying the SU-33 Flanker, at the time, the latest and greatest combat aircraft in the Russian arsenal. Players can participate in campaign missions or in single missions.

Players can participate in campaign missions or in single missions. The player also has the option of creating missions using a scenario editor. Players will fly into combat and face a swarm of enemy fighter aircraft along with facing a deadly halo of anti-aircraft fire and
surface to air missiles. Players have the ability to customize the payloads of their tactical aircraft in order to tailor to the specific needs of their missions.
Among the weapons available to the player are the aim-9 sidewinder infra-red air to air missile, the aim-120 amraam medium ranged radar guided missile, the 20 millimeter rotary volcano cannon, mk-82 five hundred pound iron bombs, mk-84 two thousand pound iron bombs, agm-65 maverick anti tank missiles, and harm anti-radiation missiles. Players can strap in and throw on some aviator sunglasses and crank up the Top Gun soundtrack and take off ready to face whatever the enemy has to throw at them. Involve yourself in one of the many prepared missions and follow waypoints and check points on the way to the ultimate objective. Along the way players may have to fight off enemy bogeys or attack enemy targets of opportunity on the ground.
This game included an innovative stereo sound system which allowed you to hear enemy gunfire, the roar of jet engines, AWAC airborne intelligence updates and your fellow pilots letting you know that they are in distress. "Check your Six!", Try and shake those enemy MiGs off your tail high above a foreign landscape and then dive down upon an unsuspecting column of enemy tanks and armored personnel carriers as they churn their way through the countryside or fire a maverick missile at a suspension bridge traversing a vital river. Bomb an enemy airbase in order to prevent enemy fighters from getting airborne or participate in a Wild Weasel mission to eliminate enemy anti-aircraft weapons in the area.
