You take in a deep breathe and howl... the sound vibrating throughout the night. You hear replies to the north and east of you, signifying where your pack is. You creep forward smelling the air. The moose your pack is stalking is only a mile away. You continue to go forward, letting out another howl to hear the position of your pack. You sniff again then freeze. The moose is right there near you. You tense up and bolt forward, the moose sensing you and running but it's not fast enough.
You jump onto it and attack it just as the others from your pack join in on the fight. It's not long until the moose dies and the pack devours it, you’re ripping off some meat and trotting back to the den, feeding the hungry young mouths that sat there waiting.
All of the sudden you hear the thunder of a helicopter above and you feel a sharp pain in your leg. You've been shot! You're able to limp away to safety, but another in your pack wasn't as lucky. The next morning you find the body and howl, mourning the lost wolf.
The game "Wolf" by Sanctuary Woods the most unique game many have ever seen, winning it an award. In the game
you are a wolf. You must hunt, guard your territory and generally stay alive through the rough seasons of the year. You can fight others in your pack to gain ranks all the way to alpha and eventually be able to mate and produce pups with the other alpha - IF you live long enough to do so. You can hunt or scavenge food, and usually you hunt with a pack. There are many prey animals, including deer, rabbits and buffalo. The only predators you have are humans, which are indeed the ultimate predators. This game is very addictive and educational and will as well give you a whole new look on the lives of wolves and many other animals. There are about 40 different scenarios like staying alive for a day in the artic wilderness and there's a section in the game where you can learn all about wolves, and also you gain facts while in-game with the waiting screens. The graphics for this game, even outdated today are pretty good. So all in all, a very playable game indeed. I'd rate it a 10/10 for the graphics, game play, idea of the whole thing, the many facts packed into it and the sheer uniqueness of it all.
