Action Soccer was released by Ludimedia in 1995 for the Amiga. It is the first soccer game to offer 2D and 3D views putting a little extra edge on the game. The game consists of 16 teams with skills that can be improved. These skills range from speed, strength, endurance, power etc.
The soccer game is quite easy due to the lack of general rules likes offside and fouling. This makes the game more free flowing, less stop start, so I guess more enjoyment can be had.
This makes the game a much easier game for when you have visitors over and instead of having to explain to them how to play for example play station soccer you can whip out action soccer and turn it on and boom yah you are off and racing. Everyone can play this game.
The graphics are basic but true to the Amiga. The teams and players all look okay and the field changes as to which stadium you play in. You can play against the computer which can be a good way to mature those skills. The game has a few options that you can change which helps. Weather is the best option to change, turning rain on can be funny. This
will slow down the Amiga as there are too mangy graphics and the machine can’t handle more than 4000 pixels so it slows down to process.
If you have the 12k expansion chip you shouldn’t have any problems, it plays well on mine so you should have no problems like the Atari. The other very funny thing to mention is the adding on of commentary it is quite a funny add-on by the makers off this game action soccer and I would like to really add that I am not too be a good soccer player but I am really good at action soccer so the commentary tells me.
But all in all great game that you all should download and play live at home with your mates on the Amiga and having a challenge action soccer style. Bring it on anyone keen should always remember they should have more games than action soccer thought as you will get bored after a while. You need to really make sure that you also have that expansion pack as the 12k really makes such and a massive difference and I would not play a game without my 12k of ram.
