Game Review 1 (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/18/2007
Death Drome is a futurist first person action game. The game is set in the year of 2057 and the world’s prisons are full of vicious, condemned criminals. The Committee of Recreational Termination has created a game for in inmates to allow lucky cons to have the chance to win freedom. The only way you can win this freedom is by surviving three rounds of gladiatorial combat in each of the deadly super prisons. You will be taking the part of one of the prisons that is attempting this them self.
In the beginning of the game you will select a combat runner and begin the battle to the death. There will be eight different runners to make your selection from, each with its own attributes. One example of a difference between the runners is that one may be more durable but slower than one of the others so you must make your choice wisely. There are four Domains in each super prison, each one being unlocked as soon as you finish the three rounds that you are taking part in. Throughout each match there will be plenty of weapons and bonus items to get a hold of. Some of the bonus items could include extra life credits, different colored keys that will unlock secret doors or even temporary invincibility. You must think very strategically with this game. You will only be able to use three weapons at a time, so you have to make the best choice for the battle you are taking place in.
The plot of the game is quite simplistic but the way each level has been designed makes up for the simplicity of the game. Each level has different characteristics and has different challenges you will be involved in. This game does support up to an eight-player network, allowing you to play against your friends.
The game does have quite difficult opponents you will be completing against. It will take some time to kill those opponents. This gives you a bit of a challenging aspect to the simple plot that you are given. Once you complete each level you will have completed the game and got the freedom you were fighting so desperately for.
The graphics that have been done in this game are up to the average for the time the game was created. The vehicles do tend to be a bit blocky looking, but with each level being done so wonderfully and different it makes up for the few flaws that consist with the graphics.
Death Drome is a great futuristic action game. The way the game has been designed makes it quite appealing to many players. I would recommend this game for many age groups, as it isn’t too difficult for anyone to play. Once you get the hang of all the controls you will be soon killing everyone nice and easily. Death Drome is a great game that should of got further than what it has.

You have to either blast people out of the Drome or you can leave a trail of energy behind you like they did in tron and cause you opponents to smash into your energy trail.
You play in huge arenas that have obstacles and power ups strewn around and you have to destroy all your enemies or escape the dome before the allotted time. If you did leave in time the Drome will start to emit energy from the centre of it and it will get bigger and bigger until it destroys you.
There are 4 different vehicles to choose from each with their own distinct advantages and disadvantages. This game was made by zipper interactive and for some reason never took off. It was originally sited to show up on the play station 1 but it was scrapped. It was at a time when there were tons of play station games being released so they may have thought it would get lost in the crowd.
I’m sure it’s the greatest game in the world! I really love it!
